Middle Atlantic Planetarium Society Conference 2002
Wednesday, May 8 – Saturday, May 11, 2002
Hosted by EcoTarium: A Center for Environmental Exploration

The countdown is again upon us; the wonderful month of May will soon be here and with it is our annual MAPS 2002 Conference.

The conference hotel will be the Holiday Inn Worcester, 3.5 miles from the EcoTarium.

Room rates (conference rates-5% tax included) are $123 for single and $134 for double; they have 145 rooms.

If you have not done so already, it would be prudent that you reserve your hotel room today. There are few hotels in the Worcester area (700 rooms total) and the Centrum will be attended by 1,400 engineers that week. The block of rooms for our conference will be released on the 8th of April.

If you are not sure you can attend, reserve a room now and if necessary cancel later. Reservations for the Holiday Inn Worcester is: 800-782-7306

The title of the conference is “The Whole Spectrum: From Radio to Gamma” with the theme of the conference emphasizing the complete spectrum of astronomy, not just the visible. We are encouraging anyone who has done programs for schools or the general public in the nonvisible spectrum, to present a paper or poster on such a topic-refer to one of the Proposal Forms included in your registration packet. In the interim we are working vigorously, as so many of the past hosts have done, to have a great conference. And for those of you from outside of New England, we will teach you how to pronounce “Worcester.” See you in May!
